FAQ’s

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you Move Furniture?

Yes…Sofas, chairs, end tables, dining room chairs and some tables. We ask that you remove any smaller, valuable, fragile or breakable items prior to our arrival at your location. We do not move Entertainment Centers, China Cabinets, Bookcases, Pianos, Dressers, Antiques or any electronic equipment.

Q: Do you accept Credit Cards?

We currently DO NOT accept credit cards. Our services require cash or personal or business check.

Q: How long will it take to clean my carpets?

The average time it takes to clean an entire 3-4 bedroom home is between 1 to 2 hours. Times will vary depending on amount of furniture required to be moved and condition of carpet.

Q: How long does it take to dry?

In our climate and depending on weather, typical drying time is 4 to 6 hours. You can also reduce the dry time by turning on your HVAC fan, opening windows and/or turning on fans. We ask that you leave any ‘blocks’ or ‘tabs’ in place for at least 24 hours to keep rust and/or furniture stains from forming.

Q: When can I walk on my carpets after their cleaned?

We recommend you wait until their completely dry. This will allow carpets to dry in a groomed, upright position and keep soils from being retracted onto them. If you must walk on damp carpets please wear plastic booties that are provided and be cautious when crossing onto hard surfaces with damp feet to avoid a slip hazard.

Q: Do you work weekends?

We’re currently closed on the weekends. However, if that is the only time you are available, we will make every effort to accommodate you.

Q: How can I prepare my home to have its carpets cleaned?

Remove any breakables from furniture you want moved and make sure any toys, clothing, small area rugs or other items are off the floor. Then vacuum either the day before or the day of our visit.

Q: Will the technician try and sell me extra services or products?

Maintaining your investment is our highest priority. Per manufacturer recommendation, our technician may recommend that you have stain protector applied if they see the need. However the price won’t change from the quote unless you decide to add services.

Q: Will your solutions affect any allergies I have?

Please be sure to notify us of any allergies you may have in advance. While the solutions we use are labeled completely non-toxic, environmentally safe for people with allergies, children & pets, in a few cases some still have a slight reaction. If you’re unsure we do have anti-allergen products available.

Q: Can you remove pet or dye stains?

Yes, with special treatments. There’s usually an extra charge dependant upon the level of saturation and/or extent of damage. Your technician can give you an estimate at the time of cleaning.

Q: What are those things you put under my furniture?

The ‘Blocks’ & ‘Tabs’ are there to protect your carpet from rust and/or furniture stains. Please don’t remove them for at least 24 hours.

Q: Why did spots reappear after having my carpets cleaned?

While most spots are removed and do not reappear after cleaning, there are occasions when deeply embedded spots that have made it through to the padding or backing can reappear due to wicking or stubborn, clear residues. If a spot reappears just give us a call and we’ll come back out and take care of it.

Q: How often should I have my carpets cleaned?

Most Carpet manufacturers require that you have your carpets cleaned by an IICRC Certified Firm at least every 12 to 18 months to maintain your warranty. The longer you leave soil build-up, the shorter the lifespan of the carpet. Remember that soil particles act as all abrasives and can damage the fibers over time if not professionally removed. If you have allergies or if your family generates a lot of traffic and spots you need to clean as often as necessary to maintain a clean and comfortable environment.

Q: Will frequent cleaning wear out the fibers in my carpet?

Absolutely not! Soil wears out fibers. To extend the life of your carpet, remove your shoes, vacuum regularly and have them cleaned professionally every 12 to 18 months.

Q: What is the difference between Hot Water Extraction (Steam) and other cleaning methods?

Hot water naturally breaks down dirt and stains. It also rinses any leftover residues from carpet leaving it clean and soft. Other methods such as absorbent compounds clean only the top part of the fiber and have no rinsing step, leaving residue behind that can cause rapid re-soiling.

Q: Will Hot Water Extraction (steam) cleaning remove the Teflon protection from my carpet?

Not if your carpets are cleaned correctly! Only wear from traffic over time or chemicals used with excessive PH level can remove the stain protection prematurely.

Q: How is my carpet warranty affected by carpet cleaning?

Always be sure and read your warranty first. Most carpet manufacturers require that you have your carpets cleaned at least every 12 to 18 months by an IICRC Certified Firm to maintain your warranty. A properly cleaned carpet will:

  • Extend the life of the carpet by as much as twice as long
  • Maintain the carpet warranty
  • Improve indoor air quality
  • Reduce permanent staining of the carpet.
Q: How do fiber protectors work?

When professionally applied fiber protectors surround each carpet fiber with an invisible shield. This gives you extra time to clean a spill before they’re absorbed into the fiber. High traffic areas and areas where pets like to lay should be strongly considered for applying carpet protector.

Q: How long will the protection last?

That depends on how much the protected area is used and how well it’s cared for. Reapplication is recommended roughly every 2 to 3 years or more often for high traffic areas.

Q: Are fiber protectors safe for children and pets?

Yes, all are formulated for safe use by children, pets and are environmentally friendly as well.

Q: Will fiber protectors waterproof my carpet and/or upholstery?

They’re not intended for use as a waterproofing agent. However they will provide improved resistance to water based substances.

Upholstery Cleaning

Q: What is the difference between natural and synthetic fibers?

Natural fibers must be color locked and cleaned with a solvent based cleaner by a trained professional or the colors may bleed or the upholstery may brown or yellow out. Synthetic fibers are more durable; usually color locked and can be cleaned with water based cleaners in most cases.

Tile & Grout Cleaning and Sealing

Q: What are the benefits of having my tile and grout professionally cleaned?

Dirt builds up over time dulling the tiles finish and discoloring the grout. Only a professional can thoroughly remove the deep down dirt and restore the finish to like new.

Q: How often should I have my tile and grout cleaned?

Foot Traffic, Children and Pets will determine the frequency of cleaning. If your tile or grout isn’t the same color as it was a year ago it’s probably time to have it cleaned.

Q: Why should I have my grout lines sealed?

Grout is a porous material so it absorbs soil and spills. Sealing your grout lines will create a protective barrier against those things giving you more time to remove dry soils and liquids before it is absorbed.

Q: How long do I have to stay off the floor after sealant is applied?

We recommend that you wait 30 minutes to allow the sealer to absorb. It will take 48 to 72 hours for the sealant to cure completely.

Q: Do I have to use a special floor cleaner if I have sealant applied?

To preserve the life of the sealant we recommend that you use a neutral PH cleaner, such as Dupont Daily Stone & Tile Floor Cleaner. Rinsing after mopping will also help keep your floors looking their best. Be sure to avoid bleach and other harsh chemicals as they can cause the sealer to break down prematurely.
